Wrong Identity Document Type

Upload a passport, national ID card, driver’s license, or residence permit — other documents are not accepted for identity verification.

How to fix

Only these identity documents are accepted:

• Passport
• National ID card
• Driver’s license
• Residence permit

Documents like birth certificates, social security cards, employee IDs, or student IDs won’t pass.

If you uploaded the right type of document and still got rejected, the format may not be recognized. Try a different accepted document — for example, a passport instead of an ID card.

US users: some state-issued IDs may not be recognized. Use your passport or driver’s license instead.

Watch out for

• A government-issued document doesn’t automatically mean it’s accepted — it has to be one of the four types above
• Make sure you’re uploading to the identity section, not the proof of address section
