How to fix

Proof of address is a document from your utility provider, bank, landlord, or a government office that confirms where you live now.

Documents that work:

• ✅ Utility bill — electricity, gas, water, or internet; dated within the last 3 months
• ✅ Bank statement — from your primary account, last 3 months
• ✅ Government letter — tax notice, registration document, social security letter
• ✅ Lease agreement — official rental contract with your name and current address

Nigeria: NEPA / EKEDC electricity bill, water or telecom bill, or a statement from GTBank, Zenith, Access, or any other bank also work.

Documents that won’t work here:

• ❌ Passport or national ID card — these prove identity, not address
• ❌ Driver’s licence
• ❌ NIN (National Identification Number) or voter card

If you only have paper bills, photograph the bill flat on a surface in good light. All four corners must be in the frame. If your bank supports it, download a PDF statement from their app or website instead.

Watch out for

• The document must be dated within the last 3 months
• Your full name on the document must match your profile name exactly
• Bills in someone else’s name won’t be accepted
