Photo Quality Too Low
Retake the photo — place the document flat, use daylight, turn off flash, keep all four corners in frame.
How to fix
Place the document on a flat, contrasting surface. A table or floor works well — avoid holding it in your hand.
Before you shoot:
- Turn off flash — it creates glare that hides text
- Use natural daylight — near a window, but not in direct sunlight
- Hold your phone straight above the document, not at an angle
- Tap the text area in your camera app to lock focus before shooting
After taking the photo, zoom in to check: is every line of text readable? Is the full name visible? Are all four corners in the frame? If not — retake.
If the document is glossy (laminated ID, plastic card): tilt it slightly away from the light source to remove reflections.
Watch out for
- Holding the document in your hand causes blur at the edges — always use a flat surface
- Dim lighting makes the camera use a longer exposure, which causes motion blur
- If a corner is cut off, the whole photo gets rejected — leave a small margin around all four edges
