Colombia: proof of address that actually gets approved
Upload a recent factura de servicios públicos (a home utility bill) in your own name — Colombia is one of the few countries where a normal utility bill works.
What passes
- A factura de servicios públicos from a local empresa de servicios públicos — acueducto, alcantarillado, aseo, or energía. Regional providers work too. Download the PDF or photograph the paper bill clearly.
- A Movistar telecom bill (fibra or hogar) in your name.
- A Bancolombia bank statement showing your name and address. Download the PDF from your banking app.
Keep it under about three months old, and make the address match what you typed on the sign-up form.
What gets rejected
- Nequi or Daviplata screenshots. Send a utility bill or a Bancolombia statement instead.
- A screenshot of an app screen. Save the document as a PDF or photograph the paper bill.
- A bill or statement in someone else’s name — a spouse, parent, or landlord. It has to carry your name.
- The wrong address — one that doesn’t match your sign-up form.
If you’ve relocated
A document from your passport country works if the address on it is where you live now.
