Indonesia: proof of address that actually gets approved
Upload your KTP, the same one you used for identity, as proof of address too. It’s one-sided, so photograph the front in full, including the small date stamp near the signature, and check it hasn’t expired.
What passes
- KTP (national ID card). The photo and address are both printed on the front, so there’s no back to capture. This passes most often, and it’s the same document already on your phone from the identity step.
- PDF bank statement downloaded from your banking app, showing your name, address, and account number on the first page. SeaBank and BCA come up most.
- A photo of a printed bank statement works too.
- No KTP or bank statement on hand? A photo of your BRI savings passbook (buku tabungan) works as a backup: the page with your name, address, and account number.
What gets rejected
- GoPay, OVO, DANA. Mobile money has never passed as proof of address.
- A screenshot of a single transaction, transaction history, or an e-commerce delivery receipt. Wrong type of document, even with your address visible on it.
- Kartu Keluarga (family card) has your address, but it’s issued once and almost always fails the recency check. Don’t submit it as your main option.
- An expired KTP, or a valid one where the date stamp near the signature is cropped or too blurry to read.
- A passport, or a utility bill in someone else’s name.
