Nigeria: proof of address that actually gets approved
Download a PDF account statement from your bank or fintech app, in your own name, showing your address.
What passes
- An OPay account statement as a downloaded PDF passes most often. Export it from the app and save the file itself, not a photo of the screen.
- Statements from PalmPay, Kuda, or Moniepoint work the same way.
- Bank statements from Stanbic IBTC, Providus, GTBank, Access, Zenith, UBA, or First Bank.
- Whichever you pick, it needs your name on it, the address from your sign-up form, and a date within the last 3 months.
What gets rejected
- A statement or bill in someone else’s name. This fails more people than anything else.
- A screenshot of the app instead of the downloaded PDF.
- Your NIN slip, voter’s card, passport, national ID, or driver’s licence. These prove who you are, not where you live.
- A screenshot of a website like the CAC registry, or a handwritten tenancy note.
- A statement with the address cut off, blurred, or missing.
