Uzbekistan: proof of address that actually gets approved
Order your electronic residence certificate (QAYD VARAG’I) from my.gov.uz in your own name — it’s free and arrives as a PDF right away.
What passes
- Electronic residence certificate (QAYD VARAG’I) from my.gov.uz — the government portal issues it as a PDF with a QR code. Order it under your own name and download the file. This works for nearly everyone.
- Driving licence — fine as long as the address field reads clearly. An older licence still counts if the printed address matches your sign-up form.
What gets rejected
- A utility bill. Uzbekistan has no classic utility bill, so don’t hunt for one. Reach for the my.gov.uz certificate instead.
- A screenshot of an app screen. Send the downloaded PDF or a clear photo of the physical document, not a captured screen.
- A document in someone else’s name. Your certificate or licence has to show your own name and the address you entered at sign-up.
- A blurry or cropped scan where the address or QR code won’t read.
On timing: keep other documents recent (within about 3 months), but the my.gov.uz certificate and your driving licence carry no expiry, so their age won’t hurt you.
If you’ve relocated
Moved to Uzbekistan from abroad? A document from your passport country works, as long as the address on it is where you live now.
